Morning Leaders – Average is Risky

Morning Leaders. One of the sadder things I have experienced on a project is when the Leader is more concerned with minimizing any and all risk so they don’t have any chance of looking bad as opposed to making the project as amazing as possible. They are content with an average, non-spectacular, project that doesn’t bring too much attention because they are afraid of any possibility of losing their job. They have no spirit of excellence and their creativity is usually as flashy as an acorn.
Their personal agenda of insecurity and fear keeps the project locked in a very bland box. Furthermore it frustrates the team working with that Leader because they often hear “NO” when it comes to sharing new ideas.
Please don’t be this kind of Leader. #ExcellenceOverFear

Morning Leaders – Finding Adaptability

Morning Leaders. What is one of your favorite qualities to see in a Leader?
One I like to see is Adaptability. When circumstances are good it is easy to execute the plan. But what happens when things go awry? Is the leader able to analyze the situation and adapt the plan accordingly? How does she or he deal with the pressure and still lead the team? This is one of the things I find interesting in a leader.
How about you? Share one of the qualities you like to see.
