Morning Leaders. We organizations like status quo. We don’t want to feel Uncomfortable when people ask to change things and truthfully sometimes we just don’t want to do the Work. Therefore we often times Silence the prophetic word or those advocating change. Or we just marginalize them. It’s so much easier keeping things the way they are. Right?!! #SlowDeath #EyesWideShut

Morning Leaders – All About IT
Morning Leaders. Everybody says they want IT, but not everyone wants to put in the work to get IT. Reflect on what’s your IT. Make a choice and do something today to get closer to IT. #Focused
Morning Leaders – Question The System
Morning Leaders. Dictatorships crumble. It is a historical fact. We see the unrest in the news daily. Unfortunately business and non-profit leaders do not see the same signs for themselves. You can only be an autocrat for so long. Establish systems to assist you from easily slipping into tyranny. “Power corrupts. And absolute power corrupts absolutely.” // #danger #UnhealthyLeadership #QuestionTheSystem
Morning Leaders – The Beginning of Love
Morning Leaders. “The beginning of love is the will to let those we love be perfectly themselves, the resolution not to twist them to fit our own image. If in loving them we do not love what they are, but only their potential likeness to ourselves, then we do not love them: we only love the reflection of ourselves we find in them” ― Thomas Merton // #PauseAndThinkAboutThat #Deep
Morning Leaders – Warrior Pause
Morning Leaders. It’s easy to see how some warriors returning from a battle choose not to stay idle for long. They are warriors and they want to fight. But have they fully recovered from the wear and tear, injuries, and mental exhaustion?
How many of us are like that? We don’t fully recover or get healthy for the next adventure/journey/battle. We exhaust ourself in one project or ministry event and run right into the next one never fully taking stock of our health. Today let us pause and reflect where we are at physically, spiritually, emotionally, and relationally. It is in the pause where we can discern our true health status. #Pause #HealthyLeadership #SelfDiagnosis
Morning Leaders – Knowing When To Speak
Morning Leaders. There is a time to speak and a time to be silent. Discerning this in the moment is golden. #ChooseWisely
Morning Leaders – Don’t Ask
Morning Leaders. I’ve watched and listened to leaders who don’t like thoughtful answers/critiques that oppose their thought process, especially in public. I’ve even seen them try to bully others into agreeing with them. If you want someone just to agree with you then don’t ask them a real question. Find a parrot or Talking Tom. That will probably make you feel better but you will be none the wiser. #NoYesPeople #Prov11:14 #Prov15:22
How to Make Yourself Work When You Just Don’t Want To
The Harvard Business Review blog provided an insightful article on three tested ways to overcome procrastination which I found quite helpful. I especially liked the “prevention focus”. You can find the article here:
Would You Give 5 Hours a Day to Achieve Greatness?
This article from Phil Cooke really had me thinking. I even started clocking myself to see how much time I was doing “deep work”. When I return from vacation I will get back to this endeavor.
In the meantime, please read the short article here:
